The whole history of NEPTUN is not exactly known, but allegedly she was built as a fishing vessel in the 1947 by the by shipyard D. W. Kremer Sohn, Elmshorn in Germany ordered by F. Laeisz, Hamburg. Later the vessel was captured by the Polish, who used her as a border patrol vessel. In 1959 she got a new birth certificate and was rebuilt as a fishing vessel again. In 1990 Henny found her
in Ijmuiden, Holland, and rebuilt the vessel and fitted her with masts. In December 2022 the ship was sold to the nonprofit organization Neptun to build a community ship with a sail training program to explore the world.
